WEFTS: 2″ & 4″ CLASSIC ROOT

Wefts: 2” & 4” Classic Root

Remember how we said ISLA® was created for NBR® Artists, to make your lives easier and your work even more exceptional?
ISLA® comes with a soft 2″ pre-root that is the perfect guide to know where you need to deposit the product and where you need to blend it for a soft, diffused root!

In this topic, you’ll be learning about The 2″ and 4″ Classic Root techniques from Coach Krystal.
These are the most universal weft coloring techniques you will use for your guests and can be used for any color!

2″ Classic Root on ISLA® Wefts

For a 2” Classic Root, place the product at 1” right under the seam of the weft to start.
You will then use the Dry Brush to blend it down to 2”.

4″ Classic Root on ISLA® Wefts

For a 4” Classic Root, place the product around 2” under the weft seam to start.
You will then use the Dry Brush to blend it down to 4”.
Below you will find an example of a 4″ Classic Root.

We recommend you play this video WHILE you practice doing these techniques.

Rooting Tips:

  • During the color processing time, if you see a line, you’ll get a visible line after the color is rinsed. It’s crucial to take the extra time and care blend and melt the color for a seamless root.

  • Fully saturate both sides of the weft. Otherwise, you will get patchy work or noticeable stripes.

  • Stay organized and write the time you finished applying and the stylist’s name on the foil to ensure the perfect processing time!
