Checking Tension

Checking Tension

If you take away ONLY one thing from this lesson, it needs to be that your Stitching can NEVER be too tight!

When Stitching, working close to the head helps you have tighter work.

Make sure when you are pinching, you are making the rolling motion with your thumb and index finger. This allows the stacked wefts to become flat and sleek so you can get a tight and secure stitch.

To check if your stitches are tight enough, go to a previous stitch you have already completed and check the tension on the horizontal string that is connecting to the track.

If you can pull the string up, your stitches are too loose. If you cannot even grab the string, then most likely, your stitches are tight enough!

The best thing you can do is practice, practice, practice!
