Branding ASSIGNMENT

Overview and Purpose

The students have been doing Daily Four since Phase One. Now they will be focusing on what their actual BRAND is. Not just in terms of pretty photos, but also how they want to represent themselves, and what the aesthetic will look like. 

The Assignment

Each artist will answer these questions:

  1. What is the problem that you are trying to solve?

  2. Who is your target market?
    • That includes age, sex, hobbies, lifestyle,  job, personal life, etc.

  3. Why are you choosing to sell NBR services?

  4. Who are you, and WHY should a client listen to you?

  5. How do you represent yourself online AND in person?
    • Is that representation up to your own standard of what you want your brand to be?

  6. How is your salon represented?
    • Is that representation up to your own standard of what you want your brand to be?
  7. How do you want your brand defined?
    • What would need to change TODAY in order to begin moving your brand towards that description?

  8. What is the overall style and vibe of your brand?

  9. What are the main colors you will be using?
    • I recommend turning in actual hex color codes so you know in the future

  10. What are the two main things that needs to change with your social media in order to build a cohesive brand?
    • What do you need to do to begin implementing those changes today?

  11. What are the two main things that must change in your salon in order to build a cohesive brand?
    • What do you need to do to begin implementing those changes today?

Pass or redo

PASS

  • All of the questions must be answered in a thorough manner

REDO

  • If they do not answer all of the questions
  • If they answer with one sentence or just one word
  • If it is apparent that no thought was actually put behind the answers
    • This will vary from Artist to Artist – it is up to YOU as the trainer to decide if enough thought and effort has been put into it, OR if it’s been a half ass effort
