In this week’s blog post, we are sharing more from Natural Beaded Rows® Licensed Artist, Aleta Marquez. She shares the significance of self-belief and the power of intuition in achieving your goals.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my personal journey with you all.
It’s incredible how certain moments can ignite a spark within us and make us reflect on our deepest aspirations.
When Danielle asked us to envision our dream life, it resonated deeply with me.
As I closed my eyes and allowed my imagination to wander, I was transported back to my five-year-old self. A memory surfaced—a playful scene where I would arrive home from school, grab my cat, and put on a hair show.
At that moment, I was filled with joy, pretending to be on stage, inspiring others with my hairstyling skills. Little did I know that this childhood memory held the key to my true calling.
Fast forward to a point in my life when I was already a hairstylist and a mother of three.
Balancing work and family was a constant struggle. I had never truly been present in my children’s lives, and the feeling of missing out on their precious moments weighed heavily on my heart.
I had built a career as an independent stylist, but deep down, I knew I was meant for more.
Despite the doubts and fears, I took a leap of faith and embarked on my NBR journey.
At first, I had reservations about hair extensions.
My scarcity mindset led me to discourage others from pursuing them, fearing it would jeopardize my own clientele.
However, through the NBR® podcast and witnessing the incredible results, my perspective shifted. I realized the potential for transformation and how it aligned with my belief in professionalism within the hairstyling industry.
Attending my first NBR convention, I felt overwhelmed by the glamor and talent around me. Insecurities crept in, telling me that I didn’t belong in this world of creativity and excellence.
But I refused to succumb to those limiting beliefs.
I reminded myself of the promise I made to my son and to myself—that we would never be statistics. I was determined to push beyond my comfort zone, no matter how uncomfortable it felt.
As I progressed with NBR, I discovered not only a transformation in my business but also within myself.
Every “yes” I said to new opportunities, every move I made outside of my comfort zone, opened up a world of growth and self-belief. I began to trust myself more and embraced my worth as a professional stylist.
This year, a profound awakening occurred within me. I realized that I had been confining myself to a self-imposed box of limitations.
But why should I settle for what others think is possible for me? Why not strive for greatness and prove to myself that I can achieve what I once believed was unattainable?
It’s an ongoing journey, and I’m determined to keep listening to that voice inside me, propelling me forward.
The training and hard work have played a significant role in this transformation, but ultimately, it’s the newfound belief in myself that fuels my drive.
I share my story in the hope that it inspires others to break free from their own limitations, to trust in their abilities, and to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
There is immense power in embracing new possibilities, challenging societal expectations, and finding the courage to be the best version of ourselves.
I am grateful for the support I’ve received along the way, and I am excited to continue this journey of personal and professional growth.
I know that by nurturing my dreams, surrounding myself with like-minded individuals, and staying committed to taking inspired action, there is no limit to what I can achieve, and there is no limit to what you can achieve, you just have to believe in yourself!
